Annemarie Griek Migo started drawing in her youth, while she travelled the world with her family. She was born in the Netherlands, but as the daughter of a marine, she moved to Curacao in her teenage years. Having returned to the Netherlands to complete her degree in Law, she married and gave birth to two children. She soon found herself longing for distant lands and convinced her family to move to South Korea. This is where her journey as an artist took off.
She engaged in evolving her artistic style by exploring the different cultural inputs available to her locally. She studied both brushpainting and oilpainting. Soon her own style started to manifest. Her paintings, made with rich oil paints that she collected from across the world , took hold on the canvas. Her love for life and deep interest in exploring the vibrancy of different cultures embodied themselves in pure and primal colors. While in South Korea, her career as a professional painter started taking off, hosting exhibitions across Seoul .
She longed for new adventures and moved with her family to Mexico. Being continuously exposed to the vibrancy of Mexico proved irresistible and offered Annemarie the perfect blend of culture, color and artistic inputs to settle there for the next 30 years. It was here that her carreer really took off. She engaged in exhibitions not only locally, but also internationally, exhibited her pieces in various galleries .
Having sold many paintings during her artistic journey, a lot in fleeting times when digital albums did not exist, only a small subset of her artistic portfolio is currently available to peruse. This website is dedicated to sharing her work with those who enjoy art as much as she does.
